Manager, Industry Intelligence, East Asia

Location: Taiwan Region
Reports to: Director of Industry Intelligence
Works closely with: Global Industry Intelligence team (Washington DC, USA; Munich, Germany) and East Offices

  • Role Overview

    The Global Electronics Association is seeking an Industry Intelligence Manager, to support and expand its Industry Intelligence function focused on East Asia, while contributing to the Association’s global research and advocacy.

    This role combines two equally critical responsibilities:

    • Building and maintaining structured quantitative industry datasets, and

    • Producing high-quality written industry intelligence outputs, such as reports, white papers, briefs, and slide decks, and datasheets.

    While the role’s geographic focus is East Asia, all work is undertaken within a global context and for a global audience. Reports and datasets produced in this role will support regional members, inform global publications, and contribute to data products offered by the Association.

  • Key Responsibilities

    Quantitative Industry Data & Modeling

    • Build and maintain quantitative industry datasets (primarily in Excel) that support recurring industry intelligence programs and standalone data products.

    • Collect, model, and analyze market, financial, and operational data, including benchmarks and regional time-series comparisons.

    Desk Research & Consultations

    • Conduct desk research to contextualize other primary and secondary research.

    • Consult with industry stakeholders – including companies, government bodies, and other trade organizations – to support:

      • intelligence needs assessment

      • research agenda setting

      • data collection and validation

      • dissemination of findings

    Industry Intelligence Writing & Reporting

    • Pitch research and content ideas to the Industry Intelligence team, ensuring representation of local East Asia interested and needs in Industry Intelligence coverage.

    • Translate quantitative and qualitative datasets, and secondary research into clear findings, implications, and narratives for regional and global audiences.

    • Produce publication-ready industry intelligence content, including reports, briefs, datasheets, and comparative analyses.

    Coordination, Asset Management & Dissemination

    • Work with contractors and external partners to support data collection, validation, and preparation of publication-ready materials.

    • Maintain organized research assets (datasets, tables, documentation, and supporting materials) suitable for reuse, benchmarking, and monetization.

    • Coordinate with the Industry Intelligence team in United States and Europe, and with communications and marketing departments to support the release and promotion of intelligence products.

  • Qualifications & Experience

    Required

    • 5+ years of experience in industry intelligence, market analysis, consulting, research, or a related analytical role.

    • Demonstrated experience building and working with structured quantitative datasets, primarily in Excel, including data collection, modeling, and analysis.

    • Strong ability to interpret market performance indicators, KPIs, and financial concepts (practical P&L interpretation; balance-sheet literacy).

    • Proven experience producing clear, well-structured written analytical outputs (e.g., reports, briefs, or comparable publications).

    • Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth interviews and independent desk research and synthesize insights across multiple primary and secondary source types.

    • Strong analytical judgment and comfort working with imperfect or incomplete data.

    Strongly Preferred

    • Experience contributing to or maintaining benchmarking programs, recurring datasets, or subscription-based data products.

    • Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI.

    • Familiarity with manufacturing, industrial, or technology sectors (electronics experience a plus, but not required).

    • Experience analyzing East Asia markets within a broader global context.

    • Comfort working in a matrixed, globally distributed team environment.
